Excited to share INSIGHT’s latest work on advancing holistic impact assessment for chemicals within the Safe and Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD) framework!
In this paper, we review the landscape of existing predictive models and highlight why integration strategies are essential to connect safety and sustainability assessments into one coherent, mechanistic framework. To truly achieve SSbD, we need integrated, mechanistic, and cross‑domain approaches. We propose leveraging the novel Integration–Operation–Prediction (IOP) concept as a unifying backbone—enabling more transparent, mechanistically anchored, and comprehensive impact assessments for chemicals and materials.
