Laboratory Assistant position is now open!

FHAIVE is looking for a new Laboratory Assistant to join our team!

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to support our in vitro research work and to take care of GLP duties and responsibilities. The laboratory assistant position is full-time and will be filled for a fixed-term period of two years starting as soon as possible.

The laboratory assistant is responsible for versatile laboratory work in the FHAIVE GLP quality system. The tasks include:

  • General laboratory tasks in a GLP setting,
  • Practical work on test methods and validations,
  • Cell culture work including co-culture set-ups,
  • Biochemical analyses and immunoassays such as ELISA,
  • Molecular biology techniques such as DNA and RNA extractions, cDNA synthesis and PCR/qPCR,
  • Maintenance of laboratory equipment and cell banks, and
  • Preparation and updating of standard operating procedures.

Requirements

The requirements for the position are:

  • A degree in relevant area (laboratory technician, laboratory analyst, biomedical laboratory scientist, laboratory engineer, biotechnology engineer or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience in cell culture and aseptic laboratory work
  • Basic practical experience in molecular biology methods (e.g. DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR)
  • Ability to work in English

Considered as an advantage: 

  • Experience with co-culture systems
  • Experience with immunoassays (e.g. ELISA)
  • Experience in quality management systems (GLP, GMP, ISO)
  • Ability to work in Finnish
