Research interests and current work:
I am a Brazilian Ph.D. in Social Sciences (University of Tampere, Finland).
My research interests are in interdisciplinary approaches to social movement media, anti-racism activism, media activism and activist research. I am also interested in processes of citizen engagement in activism among underprivileged social groups.
My current postdoctoral research (2017-2019) is a comparative analysis of the possibilities and limitations of digital media for anti-racism media activism among people of color in Finland and Brazil.
My book “Favela media activism: Counterpublics for Human Rights in Brazil” (2017) is now out with Lexington Books. It is available for purchase at amazon.com, adlibris.com and other major book retailers online.
