Last week, Guilherme, Nazanin, and professor Hokka took part in the DYMAT Winter School 2020 in Les Houches, France. The Winter School had its focus on the experimental testing and modeling of material at high-strain rates This event was aimed for doctoral students to present their ongoing research and get feedback from their colleagues, senior scientists, and professors. The IMPACT research group presented its most recent and ongoing work on the investigation of the mechanical behavior of composites and metals using a combination of full-field techniques. It was a very fruitful experience for our PhD Students, as they were able to get very valuable feedback from other colleagues. Furthermore, it was a great surprise and pleasure to meet with our alumni Dr. Ramakrishnan and hear about how he is doing in his current endeavors.
