Guilherme and Nazanin participated in the MatchID’s Digital Image Correlation Course which took place at the University Ghent in Belgium on the first week of July. The course comprised lectures on the theory and concepts of DIC, laboratory sessions which helped on understanding how to perform and improve experiments, as well as orientation on how to properly evaluate and post-process data. The course counted with a couple of social gatherings and a guided tour through the city of Ghent, which was a great opportunity to learn more about the city’s history and culture. In general, the course was a great opportunity for learning further about DIC and socializing with other researchers and experts with similar research interests.
