Percussive drilling in the Nordic countries or even outer space requires good understanding of how the subzero temperatures affect the properties of rocks. In this work we studied how thermal cycling and overall low temperatures affect the dynamic strength and fragmentation behavior granitic rocks. See more details in the open access publication.
