The Netherlands Winter School on Narrative: Narrative and Authority, 18-22 January 2027

The twelfth edition of The Netherlands Winter School on Narrative: Narrative and Authority is organized by the University of Groningen in collaboration with the Authors of the Story Economy project. It is now possible to apply for participation.  

The event, which takes place 18-22 January 2027, will be an opportunity for graduate students and early career researchers with an interest in narrative, as well as teachers and other professionals working with storytelling.

We offer a week-long programme on narrative and authority in journalism, psychology, communication, literature, art and other fields and media. There will be interactive lectures by specialists such as Paul Dawson, Alexandra Georgakopoulou, Gerben Westerhof, Samuli Björninen, Anneke Sools, Stefan Kjerkegaard, Sjoerd-Jeroen Moenandar, Steven Willemsen and Maria Mäkelä, as well as practical workshops by Mengchen Lang and Elise Talgorn. The school ends with a symposium on “Authors of the Story Economy” with contributions by, among others, Alison Gibbons.
