On Thursday, February 15th, Alexandros Bakas successfully defended his PhD related to Applied Cryptography and Privacy.
During his PhD, Alex has been working on what we informally refer to as “Black Magic”—finding mathematical ways to treat encrypted data as if they were unencrypted, thus keeping potentially sensitive information hidden.
This is a significant event for NISEC, as it has been a while since we had a PhD dissertation. Hopefully, more will come soon!
