Call for Papers for the Online Conference
“Men, Masculinities, Intersectionalities – The Nordic Research Conference”
3-4 November 2022 (Finland, GMT+2)

Finnish Association for Men’s Studies in collaboration with Tampere University, Finnish Council for Gender Equality, Tampere Centre for Childhood, Youth and Family Research, and The Nordic Association for Research on Men & Masculinities invites proposals for presentations at the online conference on men and masculinities. The conference aims to discuss experiences, practices, discourses, representations, and politics related to transformations and challenges of men and boys, and masculinities, with a particular interest on how intersectional perspectives can contribute to and enrich our understanding on men, masculinities and differences in the context of current globalocal hybrid-form challenges. However, proposals need not be limited intersectional perspectives. We encourage submissions from a wide range of theoretical discussions, methodologies, research topics and disciplines to contribute these debates. Presentations focusing on empirical, theoretical and methodological questions are equally appreciated. We also welcome master level students to present their theses and work-in-progress.
Abstracts (English, max 300 words) should be uploaded via conference website by 31 March 2022. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by 15 June 2022. The conference is free of charge, but the registration is required.
