Heini Kallio

Our colleague, the university lecturer in phonetics in our unit, is the Researcher of the Month at the Language Bank of Finland. In an interview, she tells the readers about her DigiTala project, in which she examined the Swedish spoken by Finnish high school students and the Finnish spoken by immigrants, with the aim of identifying acoustic parameters that could be used for the automatic assessment of oral language skills. She also talks about her project Pronunciation of Finland Swedish in beginner learners with different native languages funded by Svenska Kulturfonden.
