PRE-WORKSHOP READING MATERIAL AND ESSAY
Before the workshop, please read the materials provided in the following weblinks (below). By 11th August, please submit 1-2 page essay providing your reflections on the following questions: 1. What do you expect from the workshop? 2. How do you see the merits and challenges of Finnish education from a Chinese perspective? Or how do you see the merits and challenges of Chinese education from a Finnish perspective? You can either talk about education in general or focus on one level/field of education. 3. What are opportunities and challenges in Sino-Finnish education cooperation? And what could be improved in Sino-Finnish education cooperation? PRACTICAL INFORMATION
ARRIVAL TO TAMPERE
Finnair operates direct flights from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xi’an and Chongqing to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Tampere is located within easy reach by bus or train from Helsinki, the journey takes about two hours. Please see the airport website for information and timetables.Tampere-Pirkkala International Airport is 17 km southwest of the city centre of Tampere. There is a bus connection between Terminal 1 and the Tampere city centre. The airport taxi to the city centre costs about 20€. A regular taxi to the city centre costs 35-40€. Once in Tampere, the University Main Building is within a short walking distance from both the railway station and the bus station.
Parking in Tampere: Unfortunately the University of Tampere has limited avaivability for parking slots for guests. For more information on parking and facilities, please refer to University of Tampere website.
