Greetings from the Winter Satellite Workshop 2026!

Heidi Kuusniemi presented the SpacEconomy project at the Winter Satellite Workshop (WSW), which brought together approximately 2,300 participants. The event featured an EXPO area with around 50 stands, where research organizations, companies, and educational institutions showcased their work, networked, and explored new innovation opportunities.

The Winter Satellite Workshop is the leading New Space event in Finland, Scandinavia, and the Baltic region. It brings together multiple space-focused events under one umbrella, creating a unique forum for collaboration and exchange. The workshop unites space technology experts, scientists, and students to explore emerging topics in the rapidly evolving space sector. Winter Satellite Workshop is an annual gathering.

SpacEconomy is a project funded by the Strategic Research Council. It is an major initiative to strengthen Finland’s position in the rapidly growing global space economy. By promoting innovation, education opportunities, and cross-sector collaboration, SpacEconomy brings together experts from science, industry, business, and the public sector to enhance the foundations of economic growth, productivity, and societal well-being through the space economy.
