New reports from the Centre's co-directors

New GIG-OSH reports examine occupational safety and health in the platform economy.

Two new open-access reports from the international GIG-OSH project examine the regulation of occupational safety and health in the rapidly evolving platform economy.

The GIG-OSH Stock-Taking Report: Regulating Occupational Safety and Health in the Platform Economy reviews approaches to regulating occupational safety and health in platform work. The GIG-OSH Case Study Report: Regulating the Platform Economy: Recent OSH Policy and Practice Debates and Developments complements this work by examining recent policy discussions, practical developments, and experiences from different contexts.

All three co-directors of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Health in All Policies and the Social Determinants of Health at Tampere University, Lauri Kokkinen, Salla Atkins, and Meri Koivusalo, contributed as authors. Their involvement reflects the close connection between occupational health, changing employment arrangements, social determinants of health, and the development of equitable public policies.

The WHO Collaborating Centre and Tampere University’s Health Sciences Unit are proud to contribute to this international collaboration. The reports strengthen the evidence available to researchers, policymakers, and practitioners working to protect health and well-being as digital labor platforms reshape working life.

Our Centre joins GNHiAP webinar on Health in All Policies

Our Centre is proud to contribute to the upcoming GNHiAP webinar, “Health in All Policies in a Changing World: Reflections and Tools for Action,” taking place online on September 15, 2026. Our Centre’s coordinator and co-director have been closely involved in developing and organizing the webinar. The event will introduce the Four-Pillars model, highlight practical country experiences, and provide a space for policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and partners to exchange ideas on strengthening Health in All Policies in a rapidly changing world.
