The academic semester can quickly fill with research, teaching, meetings, and deadlines. Alongside responsibilities at home, these commitments can leave little room to pause. The holiday week offers an opportunity for those taking time off to step back, enjoy a slower pace, and make space for whatever feels restorative: a walk outdoors, time with loved ones, a favorite book, or simply an afternoon without plans.
Our work at the Centre keeps health and well-being firmly in view. That perspective also matters in our everyday working lives, including how we manage expectations, respect time off, and support one another. Making room for rest is a shared responsibility.
We recognize that the holiday week looks different for everyone. Some will be away, while others will continue working, studying, or caring for family members. Whatever the week brings, we hope it includes moments of quiet, connection, and needed rest.
