Limanu Summer School 2026

The Limanu Summer School is organized the second time in Romania, bringing together students of architecture and sociology, mainly from Bucharest, to dive into the multicultural and historically rich site and its people by the Black Sea.

The Limanu Summer School takes place during the first 2 weeks of September and focuses on architecture, cultural and natural heritage, local communities, and forms of interdisciplinary research and experimentation. In the commune of Limanu, the programme brings together architecture and sociology students, professors (from UAUIM and partner universities), architects, researchers and other invited specialists, with activities including workshops, lectures, field research and discussions with the local community. As part of invited guests, there is Elina Alatalo, presenting the work of the collectives Those Who Become Placed and Insurgent Spatial Practices, as well as the research project INNATURE that experiments with developing biodiversity of urban nature with local people in several cities around the Europe.
