The aim of the workshop is: 1) to get acquainted with the different discourses within feminist theory linked to feminist political ecology, ecofeminism, and queer ecologies; 2) to understand the way these critically engage with capitalism and the different discourses on sustainability (e.g. sustainable development and sustainable livelihoods) and to matters of work, space, and gender; 3) to mobilize these theories to understand current processes of urbanization and reimagine sustainable urban futures constructed under other set of values than those of a capitalist patriarchal society.
This event is organized by the research groups ASUTUT Sustainable Housing Design and Urban Planningand the Insurgent Spatial Practices research collective in collaboration with the Head Division of Gender and Globalization studies at Humboldt-University in Berlin, Prof. Christine Bauhardt. It is particularly relevant to students of architecture, planning, Sustainable Urban Development (SUD), and sister fields and the boarder STUE community.
