Kokko1721 is an artists-in-farmstay-residence. The artists accommodate in an old farmhouse and become part of the old farm’s everyday life. Tupa working space, guest rooms and kitchen are all situated in the main building, farmhouse. The idea of the residency is to offer time to focus into artistic work and to take part in everyday life actions in the farm.
For Those Who Become Placed, this residence offers a moment to wrap up the work done under the project funded by Finnish Cultural Foundation, and to plan for the future. Idea is also to do similar explorations in the countryside, as the group has done in the urban setting of Hiedanranta. Group will also gain from the practice of the residence host, Jukka Ristolainen, who works e.g. with landscape and travelling in his art.
Event in Kangasniemi library takes place Friday May 15th at 18-19.00, address Kankaistentie 5. The event includes a performative aspect, with plenty of time for discussion.
