In his doctoral dissertation, M.Sc. (Tech) Zhao Fu investigated the reliability of printed flexible & stretchable electronics. Flexible & stretchable electronic devices can be mechanically deformed, allowing them to be bent, compressed, and stretched while maintaining functionality, which facilitates e.g. wearable devices. In the thesis mechanical and electrical methods as well as imaging were applied to evaluate the reliability. This research helps to understand the failures and weaknesses of the flexible & stretchable electronics and provide guidelines towards improved performance and durability.
