Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) has granted Postdoctoral Research Fellow Mika-Matti Laurila an Individual Fellowship (IF) project on the topic of “Unobtrusive printed piezoelectric sensors for non-invasive biosignal monitoring (UNOPIEZO)”. The 27 month project will start in the second half of 2021 and contains a research exchange of 12 months at John Rogers Research Group in Northwestern University (USA). Professor John Rogers’ group is the worlds’ leading group in the field of epidermal electronics and has produced many paradigm shifting studies on highly unobtrusive bio-signal sensor systems employing the piezoelectric effect. The UNOPIEZO project aims to apply the methodologies developed in Rogers’ group in printing based fabrication of ultra-thin piezoelectric bio-signal monitoring systems.
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions are among Europe’s most competitive and prestigious research and innovation fellowships meant for career development and knowledge transfer.
