Ever since Henri Lefebvre’s seminal work The Production of Space, theories of spatiality have examined the production and construction of space in various contexts. However, the flipside of these processes, i.e. the de-construction and disintegration of space, remains comparatively undertheorised. Yet a critical interrogation of the “undoing” of space tells us as much – if not more – about the dynamic and ephemeral qualities of spatiality as a focus on its production. Accordingly, this seminar aims to explore various questions that emerge from a focus on “Space Undone.”
