The Annual Research Conference of the European Business Ethics Network (EBEN) June 14–16, 2010 in Tampere, Finland.

The theme of the conference was From Theory to Practice – How does business ethics matter? With this theme the conference focused on research into the reasons why organizations should take business ethics seriously, by concentrating on the motivations, consequences and implications of business ethics. As well as ongoing theoretical discussions, interested was placed on contributions that examine how business ethics is understood, applied, and enforced in practice.

The conference was arranged in collaboration by the RESPMAN Research Group at the University of Tampere, the University of Jyväskylä School of Business and Economics, and the Finnish Chapter of EBEN. The conference was targeted for academics and practitioners interested in responding to the need to investigate, discuss and understand how, why, when and where business ethics matters.

In addition to an interesting conference addressing the motivations, consequences and implications of business ethics, delegates and accompanying persons were offered an attractive social programme with a welcoming reception at the City Hall and a conference dinner at the Finlayson Palace restaurant, known for traditional Continental cuisine and surrounded by a beautiful park.
