12th Annual Responsible Business Research Conference

What does corporate responsibility mean in today’s society? How do responsible and ethical aspects appear in different business models and business environments? How can we conduct research about these aspects and develop them further?

The Responsible Business Research Conference is organised in order to increase the visibility and to promote research on business responsibility, sustainability and ethics in Finland. In 2024, the seminar is organised for the 12th time in a hybrid format. Languages of the seminar are Finnish and English.

Robert Phillips – Keynote speech 13.3.2024

Robert Phillips is George R. Gardiner Professor in Business Ethics and Director of ​the Centre of Excellence in Responsible Business at York University’s Schulich School of Business (Toronto). He has served as Gourlay Professor of Ethics in Business, at Trinity College, University of Melbourne, and as visiting professor at LM Thapar School of Management (Punjab) and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (Shanghai). He has published over 50 scholarly articles appearing journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics, Strategic Management Journal, Philosophy of Management, and the Academy of Management Review, among others. He is the author of Stakeholder Theory and Organizational Ethics (2003). His research interests include stakeholder theory and historic corporate responsibility. He ​serves as Consulting Editor at Journal of Business Ethics and has held leadership positions in the Academy of Management, the Strategic Management Society, the International Association for Business and Society, Philosophy of Management, and is past president of the Society for Business Ethics.
