3rd Tampere IAS Talks in "Tiedon valoa" Science Event on Tampere University City Centre Campus, Main Building, Lecture room A1, on 24 January 2026, at 13:30-14:45 - Speakers Sara Hägg and Juulia Jylhävä

Tiedon valoa, a science event with programme for the whole family, will be held on Tampere University City Centre Campus, Main Building, on Friday-Saturday, 23-24 January 2026.

While most of the event's lectures, presentations and discussions will be held in Finnish, the Tampere Institute for Advanced Study Talks offers an opportunity to participate in its English-language seminar titled Biology of aging: How and why we age? 

Biology of aging: How and why do we age? 

In this seminar exploring biological ageing as one of the key underlying factors shaping human health to be held on Tampere University City Center Campus, Main Building, Lecture room A1, at 13:30-14:45, an internationally renowned expert Associate Professor, Research Director Sara Hägg (Karolinska Institutet) together with Senior Research Fellow Juulia Jylhävä (Tampere IAS and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology) will speak about what happens in our cells as we age, why some people age faster than others, and to what extent the aging process can be slowed.
