Tampere University The Faculty of Social Sciences presented awards on November 22, 2024, recognizing the year’s best achievements in teaching, research, societal impact, and community engagement.

The SOC in Society award was granted to Dr. Antti Malinen, University Researcher at the HEX Centre of Excellence. The award citation highlighted that:

“The societal impact of the Kuulluksi project, led by Antti Malinen, is underscored above all by its commitment to listening to children who have experienced maltreatment, breaking the personal and institutional silence surrounding unsafe and violent experiences in foster care — making the invisible visible. Methodologically, the project’s extensive collaboration network, involving experts from science, art, and social work, contributes to the implementation of the national child strategy.”
