Sustainable Welfare Systems (SWS) is Tampere University’s profiling initiative funded by the Academy of Finland. The aim of the program is

  • to study and promote the sustainability of future health and welfare systems with a special focus on how knowledge and information can be used to support and improve the governance of welfare systems, implementation of welfare policies and the agency of patients, customers, citizens, professionals and decision-makers.
  • to support already existing and create new research groups that move beyond disciplinary and faculty boundaries
  • to develop new operational models that bring together the academic community, the civil society, the corporate world and the public sector.

The aim of the workshop is to launch the new research program and to find out how SWS could meet its objectives and the needs of TAU’s academic community interested in and working on the topics of the program. You are all warmly welcome!
