Increases in taxation are mandatory in case we aim to maintain the level of welfare services, assess the Tampere University economics professor Kaisa Kotakorpi. Kotakorpi has co-authored an article on the economic effects related to the corona crises to the Finnish Economic Journal together with research director Essi Eerola (VATT Institute of Economic Research). Together the authors indicate directions for the renewal that could alleviate dealing with the future crisis and strengthening public economy after the corona crisis. These include new systems to support entrepreneurs and enterprises through crises, changes in the taxation system that support macro-stability and improved prerequisites for long-term decision-making.
