Sustainable and efficient logistics

This page presents current and past projects which relate to sustainable and efficient logistics.

In logistics, the research at Verne focuses especially on goods transport and on freight transport systems. The research has considered especially sustainability, city logistics, efficiency and robustness (resiliency).

The currently ongoing SeCLog project (Smart electric City Logistic) is developing and evaluating solutions based on electric utility vehicles (electric buses, electric distribution vehicles) to meet the challenges of climate change in urban logistics, especially in Tampere Region The project examines the potential and feasibility of electric utility vehicles and other intelligent solutions in urban logistics. The project is funded by the Council of Tampere Region (European Regional Development Fund).

Most of the past studies have been reported in Finnish, but the reports usually include an abstract in English. The publications in English can be found here.
