Hytönen group studies how the conformational changes in proteins are involved in cellular mechanosignaling. We utilize cellular models, protein engineering and molecular dynamics simulations to understand the molecular mechanisms of cellular mechanosensing and to test and validate the working models.
Vesa Hytönen graduated from University of Jyväskylä, continued as postdoctoral researcher in ETH Zurich and joined Tampere University at 2007. He has been appointed as full professor in Cell and Molecular Biology since 2020.
