Compeeting Learning Disabilites at Work (2017-2019)

Project coordinator: Kati Tikkamäki
Project funding: ESF

According to the recent International Survey of Adult Skills and Literacy by OECD (2015) shows that there are 600 000 adult people in Finland lacking comprehensive basic skills. The results of a Nordic Mapping Project on Nordplus Adult programme “Learning disabilities at workplace” showed that there is very little knowledge of the influence of learning disabilities in accomplishing diverse tasks at work. There is missing information about where to find financial support or assistive tools for helping employees with learning disabilities in their work.

The Project will produce a virtual toolbox of learning disabilities, different assistive technology, methods and tools for diverse learners at work. The toolbox will present different assistive tools and good practicies in diverse working environments and tasks and gives instructions where these tools can be helpful. Furthermore, the project produce training modules e.g. for learning disabilities and speaking in a dialogical way. The results of the project will be dissaminated widely as good practices to workplaces by the stake holders.
