The operations of the WRC were assessed as convincing, large-scale and nationally visible. During the evaluation period, there has been a lot of scientific output, publishing and interaction with the surrounding society, and our international research cooperation and publishing have been extensive. In our research centre, initiatives have been taken to inspire and improve the quality of funding applications, and we have participated in researching and supporting the well-being of the university’s students and employees. Our close cooperation with various actors in society was assessed as important in promoting the societal impact of research and the recognition and appreciation of the WRC. According to the assessment, the WRC as a whole creates a picture of a dynamic and ambitious organization that is visible in many ways and shows itself as a desired partner for various projects.
Research Director of the WRC, Anne Mäkikangas, envisions the centre’s future to be further strengthened with domestic and international networks. We look forward to continuing and developing our operations in the coming years!
