The research project compares the obstacles and preconditions of work engagement and organizational commitment between Finnish and Russian work life and in Finnish organizations operating both in Finland and in Russia. Both these issues have a major effect on the efficiency of the organizations. In this research project, the connections between work engagement and organizational commitment and for example leadership, employees’ possibilities to take part on decision making and possibilities for career advancement and on-the-job development are analyzed.
As a comparison nation Russia is particularly interesting, as Russia has a great importance for the economy of Finland. Finnish companies have long history on trade with Russia and many companies have affiliated companies in Russia. Even though Finland has had connections to Russian work life and work culture for a long time, they have still remained not so well-known. However, many Finnish organizations would have a benefit of knowing the Russian work life better. The results of the research projects can be utilized on enhancing the employee well-being in the organizations.
