Renovation Concept for Suburbs from the Point of View of Inhabitant and Business, KLIKK (2012–2014)

The objective of KLIKK-project was to develop a user-friendly industrial, economical and efficient renovation concept for suburban multi-storey residential buildings. The concept can be used for renovation, expansion and adding more storeys. The changed fire regulations better allowed the use of wood, so the possibility was utilized. The concept creates the opportunity to move from execution and cost based business towards new service and inhabitant based business. This way the solutions can be tailored case-by-case to fit the supplier inclusive operating model and rules developed in the project, and they can be executed based on network business.

Co-ordinator of KLIKK was University of Oulu. Funding came from the National Technology Agency of Finland (TEKES) and from the cities and companies involved in the project.
