Final conference of the ECOSAFE project on 2 June 2023

The final conference of the ECOSAFE project on 2 June 2023 will provide an extensive overview of the properties of traditional and clay cutter shavings and the operation of the structural solutions implemented with them. The event is intended for all people working in construction and students in the field.

The ECOSAFE project, funded by the Ministry of the Environment, has examined the building physics of cutter chip insulation-based structural solutions computationally and experimentally, and determined the conditions under which they can be used to implement moisture-safe structures in current and future climate conditions. The ECOSAFE 2 project has examined the beneficial effect of clay on the building physical functionality of cutter chip insulation and expanded ECOSAFE studies to the areas of acoustics, fire technology, carbon footprint calculation and microbiology. The study has shown the possibility of utilising natural materials in today’s construction much more extensively than at present, and has produced practical tools, such as recommended structure types and material data. The results can be utilised in both new construction and renovation.

A final conference on the ECOSAFE projects will be held on Friday 2 June 2023 at 9.00-16.00, where the key results of the projects will be presented. The conference is aimed at all people working in the construction industry and interested in natural construction, as well as site personnel, contractors, representatives of the building materials and materials industry, designers, researchers and students. The aim is to provide participants with the latest research information on low-carbon and natural construction, as well as tools for the use of cutter chip insulation in design and construction.
