TACCU –Tampere Accessibility Unit is multidisciplinary unit conducting accessibility-related research and education at the Tampere Universities.

Accessibility empowers every person and every organization. Different disabilities affect people’s lives in multiple ways, both as individuals and as part of society. Disability can be temporary, permanent or situational, or disability can be related to visual, mobility, auditory, or cognitive impairments. Accessibility affects us all and enables inclusion in society and culture.

Our cutting-edge research is largely multidisciplinary and focused on accessibility in the digital society. The work is also characterized by active collaboration with stakeholders, such as associations and companies working with accessibility. Together, we are making accessibility the new norm.

With increased attention in current society, accessibility is also a source for abundant job opportunities. We prepare future professionals who strive to create a digital world accessible for all.
