TACCU –Tampere Accessibility Unit is multidisciplinary unit conducting accessibility-related research and education at the Tampere Universities.
Our work is characterized by cutting-edge research, novel education contents as well as active collaboration with external stakeholders, such as associations and companies that work with accessibility.
With accessibility issues gaining more and more attention in current society, the field is also a source for abundant new job opportunities. We prepare future professionals who strive to create a digital world accessible for all.

In the two-day 'Over the Barriers' event, attendees will have the opportunity to explore cultural accessibility from various perspectives. The event includes presentations, panel discussions, and accessible esports competitions.

Are you interested in accessibility and assistive technology, and your next big project is a master’s thesis?
As a collaboration with a company called Quha, TACCU (Tampere Accessibility Unit) offer different topics for independent accessibility project work (5 credits) and the possibility to continue to a master’s thesis (30 credits). Topics are related to accessibility and assistive technology, especially focusing on assistive mice evaluation.
