TACCU –Tampere Accessibility Unit is multidisciplinary unit conducting accessibility-related research and education at the Tampere Universities.

Accessibility empowers every person and every organization. Different disabilities affect people’s lives in multiple ways, both as individuals and as part of society. Whether the disability is related to visual, mobility, auditory, or cognitive impairments, the disability can be either temporary, permanent or even situational. Accessibility affects us all and enables inclusion in the digital society.

Our cutting-edge research is largely multidisciplinary and related to accessibility in the digital society. The work is also characterized by active collaboration with external stakeholders, such as associations and companies working with accessibility. Together, we are making accessibility the new norm.

With increasing attention in current society, the field is also a source for abundant new job opportunities. We prepare future professionals who strive to create a digital world accessible for all.
